The Old Dairy Square Winchmore Hill

Titled: THE OLD DAIRY SQUARE | WINCHMORE HILL. The purchase of the old dairy milk and distribution centre on Winchmore Hill Green to build 10 new homes.

The Old Dairy Square was built to the highest specification some 20 years ago by us and still remains one of the most complex and impressive developments in our portfolio. Our aim was to create a desirable gated 10 house private courtyard with underground parking. We did this and its only 200 yards from Winchmore Hill Green.

For the last 15 years or so the mews has frequently had a waiting list for ongoing purchasers due to its very popular location. They are truly unique, two double bedroom, two bathroom mews houses. It was important to us that these homes had two spacious bedrooms, bathroom and shower room, fully integrated Kitchen and a ground floor guest WC. We also wanted each house to have underground parking for two vehicles, video entry phone to get you into the gated development and a roof terrace.

The complexity of this build was mainly due to the ground conditions. The whole site was built off of a contiguous pile system some as deep as approximately 60 feet. Then theres the podium slab! Podium slabs are a special type of floor system that transfer loads from a steel frame structure above the slab to walls and columns below, take a look at the images. Inclement weather for 3 months solid didn’t help us either but we got the build finished and all 10 sold ahead of time.
